Error “RecordRoutingInfo: Unable to collect IPv4 routing table”

Issue:

Linux VM is not booting or taking time to boot and throwing error “RecordRoutingInfo: Unable to collect IPv4 routing table”.

Cause:

This happens because of a linux package iputils causes a delay in the boot process and a warning message appears when the guestinfo plug-in tool fails to parse the content from the /proc/net/route file.

Fix:

Power off the VM and Go to VM’s settings -> Options tab -> General -> Click configuration parameters -> add a row at the bottom rtc.diffFromUTC and assign it the value 0

Power On the VM back and it should boot without any issues.
